TC Sarai No Longer A Concern To Fiji

A happy new year to all.

Tropical Cyclone Sarai is now passing south of Niue heading east toward the southern Cook Islands and is no longer of any concern to Fiji.

High pressure over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge northward over Fiji maintaining a stable south to southeasterly wind flow over Fiji as we enjoy a period of settled weather and generally sunny skies over Fiji for the first days of 2020.

Forecast for Fiji: South to southeast winds will keep temperatures relatively mild and humidity comfortably low over Fiji today as remaining cloud and showers about the south and east clear this morning.

A little warmer over the north and west with sunshine and clear skies.

A pleasant afternoon if you have the strength and desire to venture out later for a picnic in the park or by the sea on this midweek holiday. .

Outlook for the next three days: Ideal weather post cyclone weather right through to the end of the week with plenty of sunshine and gentle trade winds. Even the weekend is looking great.

The SPCZ will remain active to the far north close to Tuvalu, however the strong high pressure will keep it well away from Fiji and it will not influence our weather at all over the next five days at least.
