More than 46 young rugby league players from the Central Falcons team will have an opportunity to rub shoulders with some of Australia’s best upcoming stars next month.

The Falcons play the CQ Caprus, a Queensland-based development team from Australia, and Goldben.

The team consists of youths from Suva and Nadi that have a goal of making it to the NRL in the future.

A recruitment agency that started in Fiji this year, known as ‘the rugger league recruits Fiji,’ are facilitating the game, hope to set a platform for the talent in Fiji.

Central Falcon coach Tobia Viravu said preparations have been going on well for the team.

“Training has been going well as planned, we’ve got two more weeks to prepare before we head to Australia,” Viaravu said.

“We have been preparing for a game against CQ Caprus who competes in the Queensland In trust Cup so will be playing the Caprus on February 8th.

“We have two games in Australia there will be 23 players including the management the second game will be against the Canberra Cup team Goldben for the second 23 players.”

Viravu added the agency’s focus is to secure contracts for the players to help them and their families.

“We have set up this kind of platform in order to help the abundance of talents we have in Fiji and also secure sustainable income for the players when they travel abroad,” he said.

“Our aim is to help these boys secure contracts overseas by getting on tours like such where they will get a lot of exposure and at the same time get contracted by other teams.”
