Roy Krishna played a starring role as ATK beat Mumbai City 2-0 to move to the top of the Indian Super League last Sunday.

Krishna was involved in both goals and was threat throughout in yet another strong outing for the Vodafone Fijian national team captain.

The Kolkata club took the lead in the 29th minute after Krishna played in a smart pass for strike partner David Williams, who squared to Pronay Holder for the first goal.

They struck again in the 43rd, with Krishna climbing over defenders to head the ball in to the path of midfielder Michale Soosairaj who easily made it 2-0.

Krishna, who captained the side, should have scored in the 21st minute after finding himself in acres of space inside the Mumbai box, but the 32-year-old’s shot trickled harmlessly wide.

The win saw ATK leapfrog Goa into first place, with an important game against Kerala Blaster coming up on January 13.

Krishna and Co. will hope to build some momentum and continue their winning form with seven rounds of competition remaining.
