Baber: Wainiqolo Needs Time

Coach Gareth Baber says Fiji Airways Flying Fijians wing Jiuta Wainiqolo is still finding his feet in terms of fitness.
Wainiqolo joined the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s camp last week.
The robust winger played for the Abu Dhabi Harlequins in the Dubai invitational 7s, which preceded the Dubai 7s last month and impressed in a semi-final against a South African side.
Baber added players need time to get into the rhythm of how they play and train.
“He has done well and is finding his feet in terms of the fitness and the way the game is played,” Baber said.
“It will take him a little while to get there but I think people will need to be patient.
“He had some 15 season and a little time off as well.
“It takes a while for players to get into the rhythm of how we play, train, tempo and the intensity we have.”
Baber is hard at work with the side at the Uprising Beach Resort in Deuba preparing for the next tournament of World Sevens Series in Hamilton.
“There has been some changes here (Uprising Resort) on the pitch that we are and it is a lot more limited then what we have to do back in Suva,” he said.
“The team has responded quite well and when you have come back in after the cyclone threat was an extra bit of time off, they going to have to adjust and get back into things quickly.
“We always had a plan of how the training would look like through this block and how we move in terms of the conditioning elements and the players.”
Fiji is in Pool D with Argentina, Australia and Samoa.
The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team will play Samoa at the FMG Stadium in Waikato at 12.47pm, Australia at 6.35pm on January 25 and Argentina at 11.57am on January 26,
