Dudley High School Year 12 Science student Sera Ciri Senivasa wants to be a doctor in the future.

The lass from Vanuaso village in Gau said this was why she took science subjects at school, and her parents were supportive.

She said some students had not chosen science subjects because they were difficult but for her “nothing was impossible”.

These students, she said, had chosen easier subjects to study.

Yesterday, she was with her father Viliame Nasave Senivasa doing some back to school shopping for her.

Mr Senivasa said he was glad that his daughter had set her future goal and was working to achieve it.

Back in Vanuaso, he said, villagers had just cleaned up the school compound for the start of the new school term next Monday.

He said they wanted the school compound to be attractive to both teachers and students.

They had also repaired the classrooms and teachers’ quarters.

“Now the school is ready for the teachers and students,” he said.

He said other primary schools on the island were ready for the 2019 new school term.

Mr Nasave said a back to school church service would also be held.
