Crusaders Target Top 4

The Semesa Tuigulagula-captained Nokonoko-Waicoba Crusaders aim to finish in the top four of the BLK Nadroga Rugby Union franchise competition this year.

The side edged Davujukia Reds 10 –8 during round three of competition at the Kalevu Ground in Cuvu, yesterday.

“We are aiming for the top four,” Tuigulagula said.

“Last season we reached the quarterfinal where we lost to Bulls and we want to go beyond that. We have a good team this time. We won our second match of three.”

The side had the services of Mosese Tui and Aminio Bitomagimagi who played a crucial role in the match.

Reds captain Samu Qalikoro said: “We did fall short but will try our best in the coming matches. Out target is to be in the top eight as we were finalists with winner Tuva last season.”

The side had the services of Jone Drova, Jiuta Biau, Jonetani Ralulu, Samu Laqai, Aminiasi Radrodro and Sireli Nauka.

Crusaders in previous years has produced top players such as France-based Peceli Yato, Uwata Yalo, Apisai Turukawa, and Inoke Tavuyara to name a few.

Results: Conua Chiefs 22–18 Cuvu Blues, Nokonoko Jaguars 9–9 No I Nabua Hurricanes, Jubaniwai Bulls 3–7 Rukuruku Force, Tuva Highlanders 26– 14 Qali-Mavua Lions, Vusu Brumbies 13–14 Bemana Waratahs, Baravi Sun Wolves – Malomalo Sharks.
