Mudu, Nalaga In Super Liga
Vasikali Mudu and Napolioni Nalaga.

Former Lokomotiv Penza/ Flying Fijians wing Napolioni Nalaga and Fiji Airways Fijian Drua flanker Vasikali Mudu would be the first Fijians to play at the inaugural Super Liga Americana de Rugby Cup competition.

According to the American Rugby News website, the Nadroga duo signed with Olimpia Lions for this season which will be coached by Argentina assistant coach Raul Perez.

The two Fijians will try and set the standard for the Paraguayan side and lay a pathway for more Fijian players to join clubs in South America.

Former Lelean Memorial School student Nalaga played at the U21 Rugby World Cup before making his debut at the World Sevens Series. He played at the 2011 RWC, joined Super 14 club Western Force before moving back to Clermont in France.

He scored 305 points for Clermont before signing up with Lokomotiv Penza last year.

Former Army and Nadroga flanker Mudu was a standout player during the 2018/ 2019 Global Rapid Rugby competition playing for the Swire Shipping Fijian Latui ,Fiji Airways Fijian Drua and the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team.

With the robust running talent that Nalaga has and the ever aggressive ball hunting skills Mudu possesses, the Lions will surely be a force to be reckoned with this season.

The experience both players have will boost the Paraguayan side’s finishing as they will play aside Argentina’s Manuel Montero.

Nalaga is the first choice winger ahead of Paraguayans Juan, Daniel Gonzalez, Renato Cardona, Diego Daniel and Argana Matiauda.
