Babasiga Hair Salon was one of the busiest salons in Labasa last weekend.

Barber Saad Ali said many customers turned up at his salon for a back to school haircut.

Mr Ali is passionate about grooming hair for different individuals seeking different hairstyles on a daily basis.

The former Vunimoli Secondary School student was determined to tap into his talent for cutting hair. It has successfully gained him six years of experience in the barber profession.

“I started cutting hair in Suva and find the work fascinating as I get to meet different kinds of people who wanted their own style of haircut,” Mr Ali said.

“And I am very happy to be able to deliver their hair styling needs which leads to my customers bringing their children and spreading the word and bringing in more customers.

“It’s always a busy time for all the barbers around the country as children prepare to go back to school and need that neat haircut,” he said.

The talented hairdresser hopes that in the near future, he would be able to open his new business and travel overseas to bring in new ideas in the hair salon industry.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student of Napuka Secondary, Iosefo Lenati said nothing beats looking neat to a new school year as it gives the impression of having high expectations for the new academic year.

“Our appearance is very important on the first day at school, so it’s better to look our best,” Mr Lenati said.
