Mazey: Flying Fijians Coach May Be Named This Week
The Fiji Rugby Union is expected to name a new Fiji Airways Flying Fijians head coach by the end of this week
This is according to Fiji National Sports Commission executive chairman Peter Mazey, who said they were waiting for FRU to name the coach.
“They’ll announce someone shortly. That announcement hasn’t been made because the coach will actually employed by Fiji Rugby Union,” he said.
“We just facilitate the payment of the salary. We are expecting them to name the coach this week.”
Mazey added the commission assists FRU in terms of the coach’s salary.
“We have nothing to do with the selection process, our part in the whole equation is to just to have an agreement with Fiji Rugby to fund the salary of the coach”.
“We cannot reveal the salary of the coach because each coach is different. It depends on the contract negotiation by the national sports.”
