Don’t Play Politics, Akbar Tells School Heads At Sigatoka Meeting

The Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Rosy Akbar told school heads of Nadroga Navosa Province not to get involved in politics.
She highlighted this during the Nadroga Navosa heads of school meeting at the Sigatoka Village Hall yesterday.
“Don’t play politics, let politicians do their job and you do your job wherever you are appointed. The children need you, the community needs you,” Ms Akbar said
She made the comment in lights of the Ministry of Education being bombarded with criticism for the appointment of school heads.
“We have appointed the best to serve our children,” she said.
“As you all know we have engaged into a civil war of work, about appointments of head of schools. We want the best people to serve our children. Simple as that.
“I have been receiving a lot of personal attacks. We are just going to do the right thing.”
She reminded school heads they had a professional responsibility and duty that influenced the children and their community.
Ms Akbar told school heads that Government did not believe in racism when choosing school heads.
