The star-studded Police team is one of the favourites to win the 2020 McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast 7s on Saturday.

The side is laced with Olympians and former Fiji Airways Fijian 7s reps Samisoni Viriviri, Kitione Taliga, Keponi Paul, Joeli Lutumailagi, Ruisate Matai and Filipe Sauturaga.

Team manager Gaunavou Vakalevei said after their semi-final finish during the Tabadamu 7s last week, the team were able to see where they stood in terms of fitness.

Vakalevei said the main goal is trying to retain the title.

“Though we are the defending champions we will not be underestimating any team,” he said.

“Preparation has been good so far and we are content with where we are at.

“We have a huge task ahead of us, the team had less time to prepare for Tabadamu and taking part in our normal work. We have to really work hard to retain our title.”

Police is in Pool A with Vatutaleikeiviti, SRS Henibua and Outrigger.

Pool B: Uluinakau, Red Wings, National Fire Authority and Shangri-La’s Fijian

Pool C: Tabadamu, Natadra, USA Falcons and BLK Stallions

Pool D: First Light Taveuni, Raiwasa Resort, Western Sydney Two Blues and First Landing.
