The Ministry of Health in partnership with Health Care Fiji are working around the clock to ensure the new Ba Hospital can deliver its services soon.

The Fiji Hospitals Project chief executive officer, Paul Dyer, said this was an important task under the Health Ministry.

No opening date could be confirmed because works on the new hospital are still in progress.

“We are working hard to get the new Ba Hospital opened as soon as we can. It is an important piece of the Fijian health system,” Mr Dyer said.

The Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete, said all works on the new hospital would be completed soon.

“Residents of Ba and neighbouring towns can expect the opening to be in the next few months.

It will depend on the company, Health Care Fiji, which is in charge of operations,” he said.
