RFNS Kula Sets Sail On Final Voyage Down Under

After serving the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Naval Division for 25 years, the RFNS Kula set sail from Suva for the last time yesterday.
The navy ship departed the Stanley Brown Naval Base in Walu Bay around midday.
In a statement issued on the Republic of Fiji Military Forces page on social media, it said the voyage was to replace the RFNS Kula with a newer ship, loaded with the latest equipment which would make patrolling Fiji’s waters easier.
“RFNS Kula under the command of Lieutenant Commander Isoa Tokalauvere departed RFNS Stanley Brown base for the final time earlier today (yesterday),” the statement said.

Crew of the RFNS Kula wave goodbye to family members as they set sail for Australia.
“Kula is on it’s way to Australia on its final journey and will be replaced by a new more capable RFNS Savenaca in April.
“Members of the Fijian Navy and family members came out in numbers to see RFNS Kula off. RFNS Kula which was gifted from Australia under the Pacific Class Patrol boat programme has served the nation well in the past 25 years.”
