Daveua, Nakoci Ready For Hamilton

Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s star players Raijieli Daveua and Aloesi Nakoci have made a pledge to shine at the Hamilton 7s in New Zealand, next weekend.
The duo was part of the Fijiana Development side that defeated Nadi Aviators 24-7 in the final of the Shangri-La’s Na Iri trophy for the fifth time since 2013.
Daveua (Fijiana Dev) scooped the best player award while the top try-scorer went to Nakoci (Fijiana Dev) who were tied with two other players.
Daveua said: “There is a big job ahead in Hamilton and Sydney.
“I thank the girls for this award as if it was not for them this was impossible. It is a good start to be recognized in 2020.”
The 27-year-old has been a regular face in the World Sevens Series since her debut at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Winger Nakoci, 29 who debuted for the Fijiana 7s in 2006 is going strong as she wants to score more tries.
“I want to be part of the team in 2020.
“This tournament was important for us to gauge ourselves. We have three players and it is important to get it right,” the Nalawa, Ra native said.
