Nausori Highlands Tragedy: Murder Accused’s Lawyer Seeks Clearer CCTV Footage In Court

The lawyer representing the accused charged with the murder of a Nadi family has requested for a clearer CCTV footage.
Lawyer Iqbal Khan, who is representing Mohammed Raheesh Isoof, made the request because the footage they received was not clear.
Mohammed Raheesh Isoof, who is facing five counts of murder charges of a family in Legalega in Nadi and one count of attempted murder, appeared before Justice Rangajeeva Wimalasena at the High Court in Lautoka yesterday for mention. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
It is alleged that Isoof murdered carpenter Nirmal Kumar, his 54-year-old wife Usha Devi, their 34-year-old daughter Nileshni Kajal and her two daughters Sana aged 11 and Samara aged eight-years-old between August 25 and 26, last year. Their bodies were discovered in the Nausori highlands.
The State, represented by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), notified Mr Khan to write to the State where clear copies of the CCTV footages would be served.
The State was also waiting on the responses to the Pre-Trial Conference (PTC).
Justice Wimalasena further remanded the accused and adjourned the matter to February 5, 2020.
