Dunes Test For Rabbitohs

The Premier Logging-sponsored Ravoravo Rabbitohs had a training session at the Sigatoka sand dunes in Sigatoka on Wednesday.
Coach Sivaniolo Varo said they want to be better prepared before the Melanesian Cup next month.
The side face Papua New Guinea champions Snax Lae Tigers at Churchill Park, Lautoka on February 29.
“I think this is the first time the team has gone to test the sand dunes. I am proud of the boys for giving their best effort,” he said.
“Apart from helping in our fitness, it strengthened our character as individuals as we face the number. one team from PNG. For the next three weeks we will hit the dunes once a week.”
He warned players to shape up or ship out.
“If you don’t have pride in the jersey, it is time to take a walk. We are not only representing the vanua o Sabeto but Fiji as a whole,” Varo said.
Former Sabeto Roosters Etonia Saukuru, who plays number eight for Keris Conlay Rugby Club in Malaysia, has joined the team.
The side is bolstered with the return of former Fiji Bati reps Apisai Nabou, Timoci Saukuru and Iliesa Salauca.
Some members of the Kaiviti Silktails will join the side for bonding exercise tomorrow before they return to camp in Suva on Monday.
