R.B Patel Group Limited’s board of directors at its meeting on January 23, 2020 appointed Yogesh Karan and Abilash Ram to the company board.

Mr Karan was also appointed chairman of the board of directors.

He is currently the permanent secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister, Sugar Industry and Immigration.

Mr Karan has a Masters Degree in management, graduate certificate in human resources management, advanced diploma in quality management, diploma in civil engineering, certificate IV in business excellence evaluation from universities in Australia and international institutions.

Mr Karan was the former high commissioner to India, non-accredited ambassador to South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation countries and Fiji’s representative on the Colombo Plan Secretariat.

He is a director of the Fijian Holdings Limited and a member of several professional bodies including the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Meanwhile, Mr Ram was recently appointed acting chief executive officer of Fijian Holdings Limited.

He is the chief financial officer of Fijian Holdings Limited for the past four years and worked for its finance division throughout the group in various capacities.

Mr Ram has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the South Pacific. He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Fiji Institute of Accountants, CPA Australia, Institute of Internal Auditors and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
