Dilkusha High School Needs $130K To Complete Building

Dilkusha Methodist High School in Nausori needs another $130,000 to complete the double storey building that is now under construction.
School principal Satyendra Singh said construction work had started in November.
“Three classrooms will be at the ground floor to cater for the growing demand of the Year 9 and 10 for the Sawani and Nausori area,” Mr Singh said.
“The top floorwill be the senior science lab, a library and washrooms for boys. It will also have washrooms for girls, assistant and vice principal’s offices.
“There is a growing demand in extending the school to cater for those living in the Nausori corridor.
“The construction started in November last year and we are looking at completing it in August.
“The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by the President of the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa last year.
“The project has started and the ground floor is almost reaching the beam height now.
He said they would fundraise to raise the rest of the funds needed to complete the building.
“At the moment we have $250,000; we will need another $130,000 which we hope to fundraise for after seeking the proper permission from the Ministry of Education,” Mr Singh said.
“The $250,000 was collected through fundraising the past 10 years. We might also ask the Government to assist.
“We have well-wishers, parents and guardians who are very much assisting this school. I am positive that we will be able collect the $130,000 to complete the building.”
