The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s reps brushed aside Australia 19-12 to keep their hopes of defending the New Zealand 7s title alive.

Utility Asaeli Tuivuaka scored the only try in the first half as they led 5-0.

In the second half, they scored through Aminiasi Tuimaba and Apenisa Cakaubalavu while Livai Ikanikoda copped a yellow card.

They remain unbeaten after beating Samoa earlier by a similar margin in their pool opener.

Today at 11.57am, they face Argentina to determine the pool winners.

The Argentineans will be no pushover after they bounced back from their 38-7 loss to Australia to wallop Samoa 40-0.

“We need to be focused, if we are to beat Fiji,” Argentina coach Santiago Gomez Cora said.

Meanwhile, South Africa face a slim chance of making it to the Cup semifinal after they went down 19- 21 to England last night.
