Herbert Here For Ba

Former All Whites head coach Richard (Ricki) Herbert jetted into the country yesterday to coach the Ba Football side for the 2020 season.
He has promised to take Ba football club to great horizon.
The Kiwi arrived in time to watch Ba play Labasa in the second leg of the Pillay’s Garment Champion versus Champion Series at the Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori today.
Herbert is a former New Zealand player and coach, stepping down after the All White failed to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
He is also the former manager of A-League side Wellington Phoenix, Roy Krishna’s former club.
“I am really excited as this is a wonderful opportunity to be with Ba football,” Herbert said.
“Very delighted when I got the correspondence to come here. Certainly looking forward to watch the boys play in the CVC against Labasa and see how active they are.”
Herbert represented New Zealand to the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain and coached the New Zealand national team at the 2010 World Cup.
His most recent role in international football was as the head coach of Maldives national football team.
He is not new to the top level football even in the Oceania region.
