Dudley High School’s Head Boy for 2020 vows to do his best, empower his colleagues and help them become better leaders.

That’s the dedication and mission that Inoke Tukana has set for himself after he was badged as Head Boy yesterday during the school’s induction ceremony at the Methodist Centenary Church in Suva.

The 17-year-old will be assisted by Esther Naua, who was badged as the school’s Head Girl.

Inoke, who lives in Raiwai, said it was the lessons in life and the guidance provided by his hardworking parents and teachers that led him this far.

“I never dreamt that I would come this far. My father sacrificed his days and nights to give our family a better life,” the aspiring seafarer said.

“In return, I will lead to the best of my ability not only empowering other students but also develop them to becoming better leaders.”

He thanked the Lord and teachers for their support throughout his preparation as an individual.

Head Girl Esther attributed her new achievement to her parents.

“Last year I was the Deputy Head Girl of the school. My plan now is to maintain the order of the school and to communicate better with the students,” she said.

She also thanked the teachers and her friends for their support.
