Temo Raikalevu described his being badged as head boy for Assemblies of God High School as a living testimony of God’s goodness.

The Nalawa, Ra lad dedicated the opportunity to his late grandmother, Wati Filiti, who raised him when his parents separated.

“Growing up, it was hard for me when my parents went their separate ways, but I thank God for my grandmother who always encouraged me through tough times,” he said.

“I only wish she was here to see me badged as head boy.”

The soft spoken 18-year-old shared how he loved being part of his church’s camp boys group.

“Since last year, I have been a camp boy in our church at Families For Christ, Tacirua East, Assemblies Of God,” the teenager said.

“I live in church full time, but every now and then I will go and visit my mom and dad.

“It was my own decision to be part of the camp boys because it uplifted my spirituality and teenage life in ways I could never imagine.”

Temo acknowledged the upbringing in church and the guidance of Senior Pastor, Reverend Aminiasi Radrodro.

“I would not have reached Year 13 and probably would have dropped out of school already,” he said.

Temo thanked his mum for her continuous support, hard work and understanding and also Reverend Radrodro for being a motivator and helping buy his school stationery.

“I have learned new things like the importance and impact of fasting and having daily morning and evening devotions, since I never did them before.

“I know that with the help of God, teachers and prefects, we will be able to lead this school to a new level.”

The youngster encouraged his fellow students to always seek God first for school, family and work and God will do the rest.
