Sereima Lestro considers herself the happiest child after fulfilling her mother’s dream, on Friday.

She was badged the Head Girl of Waiqele Primary School in Labasa along with 28 other school prefects.

The 13-year-old of Nakama Village said her mother, a school teacher at Waiqele College is always encouraging her to do well in school.

“Waiqele College is beside my school and I’ve always wanted to be Head Girl to make my mother proud,” Sereima said.

“I didn’t know that I would be given this responsibility because there were many other talented students who also have leadership skills.”

Aspiring to become an aircraft engineer, Sereima said she was ready to face challenges because she considers herself a strong person.

Meanwhile, the newly inducted Head Boy, Shivanjal Kumar said his parents were also school teachers in Labasa.

“Being the Head Boy provides me the opportunity to have a taste of responsibility and authority,” Shivanjal said.
