The children of church ministers at Korovou Village were badged head prefects of Bua Primary School.

And they have promised their parents to be good leaders.

Head boy, Joeli Ramagimagi is a member of the Narrow Gate Church while head girl Atelina Vakaloloma goes to the All Nations Church.

“Now that I am the head boy, I will work together with 19 prefects, 72 students and five teachers from kindergarten to Year Eight,” Joeli said.

“My father is a pastor serving the village and I want to become a police officer to serve the nation.”

The 13-year-old and youngest of six siblings is the first head boy in the family.

“My father who has been living a

disciplined life expects me to do the same,” he said.

“I promised him that I won’t let him down and will be a good leader in school.”

Head girl Atelina, 13, aspires to become a primary school teacher.

“I love children and being the head girl will prepare me to be a good leader and supporter,” Atelina said.

“It will take a lot of effort to teach myself to be humble, work as a good team leader and instil discipline in school, but I will manage.”

The youngest of four siblings said she was surprised to be inducted as head girl.

“I will make my parents proud.”
