Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources Deputy Permanent Secretary Lands Raijeli Taga, Jenny Seeto and Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Esala Masitabua.

Businesswoman and longtime top accountant Jenny Seeto is now the new chair of Investment Fiji board of directors.

Mrs Seeto, replaces Truman Bradley.

The Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Premila Kumar appointed the Investment Fiji Board of Directors.

New inclusion to the board Mrs Seeto, Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister Yogesh Karan and FijiCare Insurance Limited Chairman Avinesh Raju.

Mr Karan replaced  former Permananet Secretary for Immigration Nemani Vuniwaqa.

Mr Raju replaces William Situ.
Board directors role

According to the  Investment Fiji website, a key role of the board is to enable Investment Fiji to achieve its purpose of developing a sustainable and successful nation by stimulating Investment and Exports.

The Investment Fiji Board of Directors comprises of highly experienced directors including executives of key investment approval agencies and representatives from the private sector.

The board members are Mrs Seeto as chair, Ministry of Industry, Trade & Tourism Permanent Secretary and Deputy Chairperson Shaheen Ali, University of the South Pacific Faculty of Science, Technology & Environment Dean Angeela Jokhan, Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources Deputy Permanent Secretary Lands Raijeli Taga, Fiji Revenue & Customs Authority chief executive officer Visvanath Das, i-Taukei Land Trust Board General Manager Solomoni Nata, Reserve Bank of Fiji Deputy Governor Esala Masitabua, Mr Raju, Unipro Managing Director Richard Breen, and Mr Karan.

About Mrs Seeto

Mrs Seeto was a former Senior Partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Fiji and is one of the country’s most successful businesswomen.

Together with her late husband Dixon, Fiji was always home for them. They never had residency elsewhere even though they qualified and Jenny’s family resided in Australia.

For many who don’t know the president of the Chinese Association of Fiji, she is a simple, humble hardworking lady.

Mrs Seeto retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers at the end of 2017.

She held the position of Joint Senior Fiji Partner of PWC from 1998 and then became sole Senior Partner in 2002 until her retirement.

She is invaluable because of the knowledge and experience in a wide spectrum of technical work in finance, risk and governance.

This has proved useful in providing advice to organisations and in conducting training in different disciplines and presentations.

Mrs Seeto is the second trustee of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF).

She was awarded the Officer of the Order of Fiji medal during the 2018 Order of Fiji Awards.

She is a well respected leader in the community and an unsung hero.

About Mr Raju

Mr Raju is the Founder and Managing Director of the Mount Sophia Group, a Hong Kong – based private investment group with investments globally.

Over the last  years, he has focused his investments in Fiji, his birthplace.

He now has investments in insurance, health care, real estate and technology sectors in Fiji.

He has over 20 years of experience working in the technology, real estate, and investment industries in the Asia Pacific region. Until May 2014, Mr Raju was the Chief Information Officer for the Asia Pacific at Savills Limited, an international property services group listed on the London Stock Exchange.

He was responsible for the strategic development and management of business systems across all of Savills’ 15 Asian offices with over 17,000 employees.

He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Richard Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario, Canada) and a Bachelors’ Degree in Commerce from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He was born in Fiji and currently resides in Singapore.

Before Singapore, Mr Raju has lived and worked in Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand.
