An emotional Abdul Faiyum has appealed to members of the public for any information regarding the whereabouts of his 15-year-old daughter Nikhat Mushena Nisha.

Mr Faiyum said Nikhat left home at Wairabetia, Lautoka on Monday notifying him that she was going to her grandmother’s house in Nadi.

However, calls made later that afternoon proved she was not there.

“I plea to members of the public to let us know if they have seen Nikhat because we just want her to return home safely,” he said.

“My last conversation with her was when I took away her phone because she was spending too much time on it and I found out she was talking to boys for almost one year now.

“So she told me she was leaving to stay with her grandmother and for me not to go after her.

“I adopted Nikhat after her biological parents, my sister and brother in law separated.

“I took care of everything for her making sure she never lacked anything even though she did not want to go to school this year because of an eye condition she claimed to have,” he said.

He said this was not the first time Nikhat was missing from home.

“The last time was early this year when she was bus riding and I brought her back home,” he said.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said there was no progress yet on search attempts.

“Our officers continue to search in places where she might be like with relatives or friends. If anyone has information please call Crimestoppers,” she said.
