Navue Wants To Do It Again

Saint Joseph’s Secondary School’s Avelina Navue will be out to defend her title in this year’s Coca-Cola Games in the intermediate girl’s long jump event.
The 17-year-old began competing at a young age and attributes her success to her teachers who have helped her along the way.
The Cuvu, Nadroga native recorded a jump of 5.40m last year to win the gold medal.
“I started competing at primary school but it was when I joined St Joseph’s, I took on the sport seriously and have been winning medals ever since,” she said.
“I know this year will be tough since there are a lot of girls who will be competing in the intermediate girl’s long jump.
“But I have been preparing well and training has been going well.”
Navue aims to set a new record in this year’s Coke Games.
