Head Prefects Thank Teachers, Opportunity To Lead

Emi Buli was elected DAV College head girl for 2020 during the prefects’ induction on Friday.
The Year 13 student, who hails from Kadavu, said it was a proud moment for her because she did not expect to be named head girl this year.
“I was the deputy head girl last year and I am grateful for the chance to lead the school in my final year,” she said.
“I will do better this time.”
She said leadership and academic work both came as responsibilities and a challenge as well.
A hurdle she faces is being away from her parents.
“I stay with my elder sister in Suva who is very supportive,” Emi said.
Wth love, support and continuous guidance, she hopes to become a better leader and student by the year-end.
“To all my fellow badge holders, where there is unity, God will command his blessings.”
Emi had scored the highest marks for the school during the Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination last year. She scored 363 marks out of 400.
Head boy Rupeni Naqica thanked teachers for having faith and giving him this opportunity to lead.
“Leadership is setting good examples and being a role model to younger students,” the Rewa native said.
Rupeni plans to pursue further studies at the University of the South Pacific.
