Lavenia: What Leadership Means To Me

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School, Lavenia Maniasiga, says leadership was not only to dictate but to be part of the body where one can learn from each other.
Lavenia said she will be working together with other prefects in order to maintain discipline.
“It is a really proud moment for my family,” she said after the induction at the school yesterday.
Her ambition is to be an accountant and has dedicated her achievement to her mother.
Meanwhile, head boy, Ravneel Singh, has got it all mapped out down to a T.
He said his mission was to bring more programmes in the school so students can enjoy and to maintain discipline at the same time.
“I had already discussed this year’s programme with members of student council and we are ready for the challenge,” he said.
“Leadership means to work together with your team by taking an initiative and working together with everyone in order to gain something.”
Ravneel dedicated his achievement to his parents. The 18-year-old wants to be a doctor in future. He scored 384 out of 400 in Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination.
He said it is an honour to be chosen for the role.
Fiji National University Lecturer, school of communication, language and Literature Bhagwanji Bhindi, was chief guest during the prefects induction.
He said leadership motivates a student to develop a deep sense of pride, critical thinking and power of judgement.
