Man, 70, In Hospital After Speeding Car Hits Him, Police Allege
A 70-year-old man is fighting for his life at the Lautoka Hospital after he was allegedly hit by a speeding vehicle along the Queens road in Nadi on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua confirmed that their officer in Nadi confirmed receiving the report.
The alleged incident happened in the morning near Tunalia Road at the Malolo junction. He was rushed to Nadi Hospital before being transferred to the Lautoka Hospital.
Car wash operator in ICU
A 28-year-old operator of a car wash in Nadi is recovering in the Lautoka Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. It is alleged that he was stabbed on December 17, 2019, and suffered deep cuts on his head and hands.
Ms Tabua said the victim was still alive. He was found in a pool of blood inside a room on the same day by a 45-year-old carpenter. Police investigations are continuing.
