Fiji Revenue and Customs Service chief executive officer Visvanath Das yesterday attended his second round of interview at the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) headquarters in Suva.

It is understood Mr Das was first interviewed by FICAC last week on a certain allegation involving another officer.

When a Fiji Sun reporter approached him for a comment yesterday on why he was being questioned by FICAC, Mr Das refused to speak.

Mr Das was accompanied by lawyer Pravesh Sharma who was also present at FICAC.

FICAC isn’t divulging any information at this point in time. It says any statement or information for the media regarding this will be disseminated in due course should there be any.

Meanwhile, it is also understood that Mr Das tendered his resignation through email on February 9, to the FRCS board.

It is understood he cited personal reasons for his resignation.

FRCS board chair Fay Yee, in an earlier interview,  said she was not aware of Mr Das’ resignation and that the board would meet later this week.

Mr Das is still at work.
