“Fiji is currently ranked 65th in the world this is attributed to our continuous drive to ensure our girls play competitive football in all age group level,” Yusuf said.
“In terms of local competition, Fiji FA is doing more for the women’s competition than the boys and has a lot of natural talent and they can be future leaders if we look after them well, through their welfare and education.”
Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee chief executive officer Lorraine Mar is encouraging all women to take part.
“It is about getting women to get that step up and be better,” Mar said.
