Opposition Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka, has claimed that the Speaker has denied him an audience, to speak on their grievances concerning Opposition MP Viliame Gavoka’s rejected petition.

In a press conference in Parliament yesterday, Mr Rabuka said: “They have accepted that and we (SODELPA) are back in House. We have accepted that and it is his prerogative to accept or disallow an audience with anyone.

“We have mapped out what to do and are looking at the possibility of how we are going to still voice the grievances of the people in Parliament.”

The National Federation Party (NFP) Members of Parliament were not in Parliament again yesterday.

On the NFP’s Facebook, they posted: “We again wrote to the Speaker yesterday to seek confirmation on two of our motions for this week, but have not had any response.

“We remain disappointed and will await a response.”

On Wednesday, a delegation from the Opposition Parties were at Nahigatoka Village to talk with villagers on the petition raised in Parliament this week.
