Jack’s Nadi football captain Avinesh Waran Suwamy celebrated his 34th birthday in style by scoring four goals as they walloped Nasinu 5-0 in the Vodafone Premier League clash at Prince Charles Park yesterday.

The veteran defender had moved from Ba to Nadi.

He scored his first goal via a penalty in the 23rd minute where he placed the ball past goalkeeper Epeli Loaniceva.

This is after Ritik Prakash was brought down in the box by Nasinu skipper Sekove Naivakananumi.

Nadi with the services of Rusiate Matererega, Vuniuci Tikomaimereke, Afraaz Ali, Joshua Tawake, Serevi Waqa, and Vereti Dickson dominated play.

Halftime: Nadi 1-0 Nasinu.

The hosts came out firing in the second half with goals from Suwamy in the 46th minute.

Four minutes later he scored through a pile drive.

In the 82nd minute, Suwamy scored his final goal with the assist from debutant Tuiba Batiratu.

Five minutes later Matererega added his name on the score sheet.

Nasinu had the services of Leone Damudamu, Luke Savu, Jone Naraba, Shahil Kumar, and imports Jarred Bently, Marlon Tahiua.

Comments: Nadi director Mun Sami Chetty said: “We’ve   salute the boys for their brilliant performance today. Team work did assist us. Previously we would lose to Nasinu.

“At half time we told the boys we need to score more goals. We dedicate the win to our fans who were disheartened after our two straight loses.”

Nasinu captain Naivakananumi said: “This was not expected. We won last week but this time we lacked possession and we played individually.”
