This is a blessing, says Lavenia Waqanidrola after receiving her brand new Hyundai Kona worth more than $59,000 yesterday.

She was one of the three winners of the Carpenters Motors, MH, Punjas and Vodafone Season for Joy Christmas promotion that ended last month.

The other winners were Arieta Tokavou of Ba and Ajay Kumar of Tailevu. They each received their brand new cars at the Hyundai Showroom in Walu Bay.

Ms Waqanidrola said she could not believe her ears when she received a phone call, telling her she had won the car.

“When the lady that called me informed me about the win, I yelled at the top of my voice. Everyone in our neighbourhood wondered what had happened to me,” Mrs Waqanidrola said.

“I can say that I am grateful and blessed to be here to collect a new vehicle for me and my family,” she said.

“Our first family trip on this car, we will be travelling to Lautoka to visit my grandchild.”

She said she could not recall the number of times she had entered her number in the draw when she shops from MaxVal-U Supermarket.

“I have always taken competitions lightly and I hardly take part in them but I am blessed to have won this time around.

“The vehicle is a timely gift as we have always longed for one for our family.”

She acknowledged Carpenters Motors, MH, Punjas and Vodafone for such promotion.

Carpenters Fiji Limited director retail and marketing Kunaseelan Sabaratnam said there were two million entries recorded on the particular promotion.

He said there were a total of 115 prizes apart from the three cars that were handed out yesterday.

He acknowledged Vodafone and Punjas for partnering with them in the promotion.
