RFMF Wives Proud Of Their Husbands’ Efforts In Helping Australia’s Bushfire Response

Wives of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces couldn’t be prouder of their husbands’ efforts in helping Australia’s bushfire response.
The 54 soldiers and sailors returned from Australia on Wednesday after completing their one-month mission. They were greeted by their loved ones at the Nadi International Airport.
Private Osea Cawi’s wife Lusia and daughter Camari were among those who waited anxiously at the airport.
“This was the first time after our wedding he was away from my daughter and I. We feel proud of his role alongside the soldiers in nation building,” Mrs Cawi said.
“If you look at it, their role is pretty serious; I take my hat off to them. The video of the farewell really made me think of the gesture twice.”

Raijieli Delai, the wife of Able Seamen Joseva Delai, said: “I am very patriotic and I love to see Fiji be involved in this nation building phase. When he was told to go, I was pretty scared knowing of what was in the news regarding the bushfire.”
Laisa Yavala, who garlanded his brother Private Antonio Yavala, said the excitement to see her brother was just like him returned from a war mission.
