Namosi Set Coke Games Target

The Namosi athletics team are using the Suva Zone One competition as a performance tracker for the Coca-Cola Games in April.
Head coach Atunaisa Waqaicelua said the team have no intention of winning the zone at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.
“We are not here to win the zone but to prepare for the Coca-Cola Games,” he said.
“Our target is to win 7 gold medals for boys and 5 for the girls.
“We treat the Suva Zone One comp as the mini Coke Games so they have to give it their all if they are to make the final squad.
“We only competed in middle and long distance events as we can’t compete in the sprints.
“The athletes have been training hard for these events and of course we have a few in the field events.
“There are no changes to the way we have been preparing. We didn’t have any inter-house but picked the best runners from the time trials.”
