Police took quick action last night after a video of students allegedly bullying and assaulting a fellow student went viral on social media.

A team from the Korovou Police Station was at the school at around 8 pm last night where the student was identified and his statement recorded regarding the alleged incident.

This was after the Criminal Investigations Department was directed to promptly investigate the video of the alleged incident in what looked to be inside a classroom.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Biu Matavou said: “We are seriously concerned about this incident and the CID team is now working to gather more details about the alleged incident.

“Anyone who can help with information regarding this incident is requested to call Crime Stoppers on 919 or send us a private message and we will pass on the information to our investigators,” ACP Matavou said.

The video shows the student being hit several times by at least four other boys with what looks like a table leg.
