An important pillar in embarking on innovation and digital journey is the customers.

Digicel regional chief executive officer Shally Jannif made the comment while officiating at the launch of the Quantum Space in Nadi past week.

Quantum Space is a private sector led learning and innovation hub driven by local company Solved (Fiji) Private Limited.

The learning hub offers short, practical and skill-specific courses for all ages from kids to adults, who want to up-skill.

Quantum Space is also an avenue for organisations to turn to when they want to upgrade capabilities in future technologies, innovation and digital transformation.

Ms Jannif said the time had come to embrace change.

She said it was important to accept that we lived in a digital world.

“What we need is to look at strategies that need to be taken into digital transformation,” Ms Jannif said.

“Any decision you make today should be based on three pillars – customer, simple and digital.”

Ms Jannif said the digital journey entailed easy ways to resolve customers problem/

Simplicity

Ms Jannif said simplicity was important for customers to understand the digital platform.

“Is it simple enough for that person to get onto this digital platform that you created?

“Is this solution simple enough?”

Ms Jannif said there were too many processes involved in today’s age of digital media.

“We want everything faster.

“Therefore, the solutions need to be simple and not difficult.”

Ms Jannif said the third pillar was based on digital solutions.

“Going on a digital journey means you need to have a team with great ideas and solutions,” she said.

Female empowerment

Meanwhile, United Nations Development Programme Representative, Janice Nand said Quantum Space was proactive in female empowerment ing girls and women in the women in the digital economy.

Its ambition is to develop a space to accelerate science and technology.

and also laid a foundation to become a lifelong learning and innovation hub within Fiji.
