Let’s Work Together To Stop This Social Ill: Methodist Church On Bullying Issues

Faith-based organisations and relevant authorities should work together to find ways to eradicate social ills such as bullying in schools.
This was the message by Methodist Church general secretary Reverend Ili Vunisiwai.
Reverend Vunisiwai said bullying was a social issue and a concern when it came to the younger generation.
He said bullying had become a norm in boarding schools and this was the sign of moral decay.
“The relevant authorities and the church should find means and ways to assist to transform the nation and the youths,” he said.
“As the Methodist Church, we want to tell the Christian community to take this social issue seriously and efforts are needed to resolve bullying in our society
“Children who are victims of bullying often suffer from long-term trauma beyond the initial incident, including low self-esteem, behavioural problems and an inability to concentrate.”
