Ulaisi Nasilasila and his wife Mere were joined by a large crowd of family and friends to lay their late son Mosese to rest in Tomuka, Lautoka yesterday. Mosese lost his life in an alleged hit-and-run incident last week.

The 23-year-old’s resting place was at the entrance of his home where the church service was also held. Two sheds were erected to cater for the influx of people who attended the service. Family members and friends could not hold back their tears as the wailings of Mrs Nasilasila and Mosese’s siblings resounded over the opening hymn.

The late Mosese Nasilasila was originally from Natawa, Waya, Yasawa, with maternal links to Kese Naviti, Yasawa. He was the second eldest of six siblings, husband to Lanieta and father to a two week old daughter Laniana Bucobuco.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that no one has been taken into custody. Investigations in the alleged hit-and-run incident continue.
