Early Morning Fire Destroys Lautoka Warehouse

An early morning inferno has left a thriving car rental and upholstery business completely destroyed, in Velovelo outside Lautoka City yesterday.
Police confirmed the fire took place before 4am.
My Viti My Island Virans Rental managing director Viran Naicker, who was present at the site, was almost lost for words.
According to Mr Naicker, his upholstery business was established at his home in 2005.
“I am not sure what happened as investigations are underway,” he said.
His rental car business was set up in 2015 and the project at the current site was established in 2017.
“I was at home when I was alerted about the fire at 3.50am. Six cars were saved, but two were completely destroyed. The warehouse also had storage and office space.
Loss is estimated at around $450,000.
Police and the National Fire Authority are now investigating the incident.
