Don’t Blame Government, Says US Tourist
Christopher Knapp.

Don’t blame the Government for enforcing restrictions, says American tourist Christopher Knapp.  Last Thursday Government imposed travel restriction on residents living within the Lautoka confinement area.

“I think people also need to not just look at the Government and especially don’t blame the Government,” Mr Knapp said.

“It’s a difficult situation, the Government has to make difficult decisions like locking down Lautoka is a difficult decision and it’s not perfect, I understand the reason for it.”

Mr Knapp chooses to remain positive despite the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Fiji, especially with the closure of the Vuda Marina.

He said he bought a boat in an offshore transaction last year and has been in Fiji since December last year because he initially planned to cruise around Fiji in April this year.

Mr Knapp added it was vital to take the influx of information in gradually as some were still struggling to understand the seriousness of COVID-19.

“Fiji does have Bula Spirit in the idea of helping each other and community spirit, I hope that will expand to include everyone because that’s what we need now and each person asking what can we do to help,” he said.
