Priest In Court For ‘Disobeying Law’

A 58-year-old priest who allegedly disobeyed lawful orders was bailed yesterday in the Nausori Magistrates Court.

The accused, Fabiano Naduva Dakai appeared in court charged with one count of disobedience of lawful order.

He is alleged to have conducted a church service/mass in Ovalau, which resulted in the gathering of more than 20 people.

The accused was released on bail for $500 and ordered not to re-offend. His case has been adjourned to April 9 for plea.
