Lynda Tabuya, Doctor In Custody Overnight For Alleged Breach Of Public Order Act

SODELPA MP and Opposition whip Lynda Tabuya spent the night in Police custody at the Totogo Police Station in Suva.

Ms Tabuya was taken in for questioning by officers of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at around midday yesterday.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that she was yet to be charged and would be kept in custody overnight.

She said Ms Tabuya is being questioned in relation to a possible breach of the Public Order Act and in relation to a post she may have published on Facebook.

Her lawyer, Jagath Karunaratne, was present at CID Headquarters yesterday throughout the questioning process until Ms Tabuya was taken to Totogo Police Station.

Also in custody last night was Nadi-based doctor, Dr Isireli Biumaitotoya, who is also known as Leli Darling on his very popular Facebook page.

Dr Biumaitotoya was also taken in for questioning by CID officers for a possible breach of the Public Order Act and in relation to a post he may have published on Facebook.
