The accused who resides in Nausori allegedly uploaded a malicious and misleading post on his Facebook account about COVID- 19 that caused anxiety and alarm.

Nausori Man, 53, Charged For Allegedly Spreading False Information On Social Media

A 53-year-old self employed man will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today charged with allegedly spreading false information on social media in relation to COVID-19.

The accused who resides in Nausori allegedly uploaded a malicious and misleading post on his Facebook account about COVID- 19 that caused anxiety and alarm.

He has been charged with one count of of Malicious Act, contrary to Section 15 (a) of Public Order Act 1969.
