The Case Of Our First COVID-19 Patient: How Lack Of Truth Can Cost A Nation

Opposition Members of Parliament had made some comments last week insinuating that Government failed in contact tracing all those who our first COVID-19 patient came in contact with.

Some simple digging has revealed a different story.

When our first COVID-19 patient first spoke to health officials, he is alleged to have told them that he was serving the business class of the flight from Auckland to Nadi.

Based on this information from him, our health officials, together with members of the disciplinary forces, went out looking for the passengers who were in the business class.

This turned out to be yet another misinformation given to the officials.

Our first COVID-19 patient was not servicing the business class, but was in fact servicing the economy class of the flight from Auckland to Nadi. Health officials wasted valuable time contacting the wrong people.
