Leicester Tigers fans are eagerly excited to watch former Flying Fijians winger Nemani Nadolo play for the club.

The 32-year-old signed his contract last month for the 2020/2021 Premiership Cup season as the Tigers look for experience to evade relegation. They currently sit at 11th place on the Premiership Cup table.

Nadolo will be the fifth Flying Fijians to join Tigers after the likes of the late Seru Rabeni, Seremaia Bai, Ravai Fatiaki, Vereniki Goneva and Campese Ma’afu.

Speaking to SUNsports, Tigers Operations manager Shaun Gibson, said the fans and the club are happy to have the services of Nadolo.

“We are very excited to have him join us,” he said. “He will definitely inject speed, power and pace into the team.

“There have been some comments about his age by people who don’t really know how well he’s been playing in France.

“To have another Flying Fijian in the Leicester environment will boost our chances in this season’s cup competition.

“Nadolo is a big unit, so to have him play alongside the other islanders that we have will really boost the team,” Gibson said.

“We have had a few Fijians who’ve played for us in the past and to be honest they are some humbled and very good players who’ve we have worked with.

“Nemani is big, but one thing I can guarantee is that he brings a lot of speed and agility.

“Watching him play and scoring tries for the Crusaders and then Montpellier is exciting so fans here and the team are super excited to have him.”

Nadolo, who retired from international rugby just before last year’s Rugby World Cup in Japan, is expected to come out of semi- retirement.

His coach in Montpellier, Vern Cotter, is now the new Flying Fijians’ head coach.

Gibson added that new Tigers head coach Steven Borthwick will surely have a game plan for the robust winger.
