Bailey Bridge Market Vendors Face Court

Two market vendors from Bailey Bridge in Laucala Beach were produced in the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday for breaching curfew orders.

Inosi Bilitaki and a woman, Alusia Bua, were both arrested around 8:15pm in their market.

Both opted for Legal Aid lawyers.

Legal Aid lawyer Krishneel Chang said Bua was packing up her things to go home to Cunningham when she was arrested by the Police.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Ravi Kumar served both accused persons with full phase disclosures and did not object to their bail.

They are first offenders.

Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne released them on $500 bail bond and ordered them not to re-offend whilst on bail, and not to interfere with Prosecution witnesses.

They were also told to follow the 8pm to 5am curfew imposed by Government.

Their case has been adjourned to June 16 for mention.
