This is the time to be one, this is the time to be together as proud Fijians and we will get through this. It is no longer about Fiji but about planet earth.

This is the message from the Fiji Hot Bread Legal and Public Relations consultant Sainiana Radrodro.

Yesterday, Hot Bread staff delivered hot cross buns at three Police checkpoints in the Suva confined area borders.

“Hot Bread Kitchens over the years have always done this. We have always gone out to visit our men and women in uniform that have stood the test of time, especially manning checkpoints,” Mrs Radrodro said.

“Yesterday they were out there in the rain while we were all at home as TC Harold battered the country they were out here.”

Hot Bread Kitchen is a family founded company established 39 years with over 700 Hot Bread Staff in Fiji.

“The founder and board members deemed it appropriate for us to come out and handover some hot cross buns to those manning the checkpoints to show our appreciation and also this is part of our social responsibility in this kind of difficult time that we are going through.

“What’s important for us is the significance and remembrance of the ultimate sacrifice at calvary. So it is a message of love and forgiveness, unity and reconciliation,” Mrs Radrodro said.

“The message is that whatever comes it has been defeated and we can come through this as people and as a nation whether its COVID-19 or TC Harold.

“There are families that are struggling and some have lost their homes right now, some have lost their livelihood, some are struggling with unemployment, reduced hours and from the team at Hot Bread Kitchen we are there for everyone in whatever little way we can.”

“Our message to everyone is that this is the time to be one, this is the time to be together as proud Fijians and we will get through this. .
